MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION REGARDING THE REQUIREMENTS FROM INDUSTRY PARTNERS
The SABER project seeks several types of data and information from its industrial partners to ensure that its research outcomes are aligned with real-world needs and are practically implementable.
Project partners have explicitly committed to providing access to relevant data and people, as well as sample data where it is deemed safe to do so. To protect proprietary information, the project can create separate, secure data channels for individual industrial partners if a high level of privacy is required.
The specific types of data required include:
- Waste Stream Characteristics: Partners are asked to provide detailed insights into their specific waste materials, such as agave bagasse, spent grains, or winery residues. This includes data on waste composition, nutrient levels, organic matter content, and potential contaminants like heavy metals.
- Industry-Specific Insights and Barriers: The project requires information regarding the practical and regulatory barriers companies face when attempting to adopt waste valorisation practices. This includes sharing industry-specific "knowledge gaps" and providing strategic guidance through the industrial parters group.
- Operational and Economic Data: To develop interactive tools and predictive models, the team requires data on environmental and economic criteria relevant to the industry. This information helps the project perform scenario mapping to identify the most beneficial reuse strategies for different regional contexts.
- Informal Collaborative Data: Information gathered during workshops, breakout sessions, or discussions—such as those at the AGAVE SYMPOSIUM—is also utilised, though only with explicit consent from the contributors.
- Waste Material Samples: While not digital data, the project heavily relies on partners providing physical samples of waste products for laboratory characterisation and controlled soil trials.
